Travelpro Luggage Maxlite 2 25" Expandable Rollaboard, Black, One Size Review

I purchased the black "spinner" version of this luggage. The quality is great and it is indeed light (just 8.6 lbs, while the rollaboard version (i.e., (non-spinner is even lighter at 7.6lbs). You just have to compare the weight and quality at its price point with the competition and you will see that it blows them away. I actually compared several brands at the local department store. By the way, this luggage (in black) looks just like what you see pilots and flight stewardess carrying on board aircraft. That's perhaps why Travelpro holds itself out to be "the choice of flight crews (and frequent travelers.")

I am happy that I found great value by finding a great quality product at a good price.

Update as of July 2013:
After using the luggage for awhile, I can say that I would definitely prefer the 2 wheels rather than four for the following reasons:

a) It is difficult to keep a 4 wheeler stationary in one spot. On any surface that is slightly curved, it will automatically slide to the lowest point and this is frustrating especially if you just want it to stay put.
b) I find it easier to drag a two wheeler than to slide a four wheeler.
c) The 2 wheeler is 7.4 lbs vs 8.6 lbs for the 4 wheeler
d) I can't justify a higher price for the 4 wheels based on a) b) and c) above.

I bought this to replace a Members Only Racer I've worn and loved for 10+ years. Quality is OK, but there are a few features missing: no zipper on the inside pocket, no snaps on outside pockets. It also has that annoying collar strap, with no neat way to fold it out of the way. Sizing is definitely on the small side, and I had to exchange my Large (actually 38) for an X-Large. It still is slightly tight around the shoulders (Asian cut), and if you wear athletic sized shirts, you might not like the fit.

Bought these for the coming winter but the sizing (length of trousers) in particular seem really small. My boys are both tall but not extraordinarily so, but they both definitely need the size up from their age. 7 year old = 8/10 and 11 year old 14/16! Haven't used them yet so no comment on the quality but they appear great.

I have Prime and knew I could send them back. It's laughable that this company thinks its customers are so stupid. After a google search, I compiled a list of ways to SPOT fake Ray-Bans--these knock-offs that were shipped failed THE FIRST BENCH mark! The 7 point hinge was only 3 points. Ray-Ban LOGO was not etched in lenses-they SURELY were not polarized. WHAT a joke. I will return them and pay the extra $50 to order them thru Sunglass Hut.

I got this rain coat so I could take it to my 12-day Europe trip. I was rainy season in Europe so this jacket was a life-saver. I carried it with me in my backpack, and took it out several times a day when it started raining as I was sight seeing. It is everything it said it was; it surpasses all my expectations also. It is water proof, it is lined, it is long enough, it comes with a zipper and a waist tie, it has a great hood with a draw string in it, and it served it purpose of keeping me warm. The other things I love about it, is that it is light, it is stylish, it doesn't make me overly warm, and it keeps me dry above all else. I didn't even carry an umbrella; I just used this coat whenever I needed it. It would dry fast and when it stopped raining, I 'd put it back in my backpack. I always wanted a nice rain coat, but this is my first one and I'm 46! It you want the best rain coat at a great price, I recommend this one hands down. It is made of great materials, it cost-effective, does the job, and is made to last!

Fred Perry makes the highest quality, best fitting and most interestingly colored polos in the world. I have many from over ten years ago that still look great. The fit is only slightly trim, but not at all tight. FP does make a slim-fit version which may suit the younger folks better. If you are between sizes and feel you may have a bit of a paunch I would size up then. Otherwise most will be satisfied with their normal size. The piqu� fabric is a bit heftier than a (better/best) Ralph Lauren polo and much more than a Lacoste. If you live in a hot and humid area they may be a bit much during the peak of summer--they are from England. They also make a few lightweight versions each summer but not usually with the traditional, tipped collar and sleeve design. The construction and sewing are impeccable, comparable to other brands costing two to three times as much. The directions here say "hand wash" which I think is unnecessary. A cold and delicate cycle, machine wash will suffice. The collars are also more hefty than others which lends them their sartorial mod cred, along with the colored tipping.

Fjallraven Kanken Daypack, Frost Green Review

I have been using these bags since I first bought one in Stockholm almost ten years ago. The design is great--they are very lightweight, comfortable with reasonable loads, and obviously classic looking. Unfortunately they are overpriced for what they are. I bought a new bag about a month ago and I'm not impressed with the durability. It seems like the prices have gone up a lot without any increase in manufacturing quality. For a small daypack that costs $75, you'd expect it to be something better made than a Wal-Mart item. But the fabric on the inside started fraying immediately and now a small hole has appeared on the bottom of the pack. I love these bags for their style and function, but I really feel a bit stupid for paying so much for a bag that look so beat up after only a month of use. I've never gotten a hole in any of my other backpacks, even ones I've use for multiday trips in the backcountry.

Unfortunately these packs are now a fashion item, so Fjallraven can double the prices, send the manufacturing to the cheapest factories, and people will still buy them. Note that this $75 schoolchildren's backpack is made in Vietnam, not Sweden.
