I splurged on this bag in the saddle color because it's beautiful and very well made. It reminded me of my old school satchel (I'm of retro vintage), and it's the right size for me. I use my bags for years and I don't normally spend that much, but I couldn't resist. The leather is thick and fragrant, but very flexible. Considering it's a substantial bag it doesn't weigh that much. The wide shoulder strap distributes the weight well on my shoulder, and is long enough that the bag can be worn cross-body. I can't stand those fake strap closures so I like the little twist lock things. The inside is simple with 2 small interior pockets for your phone, etc., but otherwise it's one compartment. This is good for me, as I lose things in bags with a lot of pockets. If you're a pocket person I don't think you will be happy. There's a ring for keys where I tether my wallet as well. The bag is unlined, so the color on the outside is the same on the inside. I just traveled by air with this bag, and was pleased that I could put it into my day pack with the flap folded back so that my stuff was easily accessible. The leather does show scratches and will look beat up after a while. If you're looking for a bag that will become an old friend, this is a good one.
